We are the Southern Nevada (Las Vegas) chapter of National Stonewall Democrats—a grassroots network connecting LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) Democratic activists with over 90 Stonewall chapters throughout the United States. Our club was founded in the summer of 2001 and has been representing the interests and issues important to the LGBT community within the Democratic Party of Nevada since that time. The Southern Nevada Stonewall Democrats is a chartered club of the Clark County Democratic Party. Stonewall Democrats of Southern Nevada has been instumental in organizing a new Stonewall Democratic Caucus which will represent the LGBT community and its issues on the Nevada Democratic Party executive board.
The Stonewall Democrats of Southern Nevada are committed to Democratic voter education and outreach, Democratic party participation, and LGBT activism and community involvement. We educate the Democratic Party on issues of concern to the Las Vegas LGBT community; on civil rights issues, and on the equitable alignment of benefits for our relationships and and our families.

Educate and sensitize the community at large, its Democratic Candidates and office holders to the political needs and issues of importance to the LGBT community;
Enhance the Democratic Party’s message of economic justice and social equality to the LGBT community;
Encourage LGBT Democrats to run for political office at all levels of government.
Promote LGBT participation in the campaigns of Democratic candidates and to all levels of the Democratic Party; and
Elect Democratic candidates to public office by maximizing the Democratic turnout of the LGBT community and its supporters.

The history of these Gay Pride Celebrations and the birth of the modern Gay Rights Movement began not all that long ago in June of 969 in New York City -- not by a celebration but by a "gay riot" at the Stonewall Inn, a small gay/drag bar in Greenwich Village. But before the riots that changed the world, things were very different for gays and lesbians...
